Citi Belfast seeks an Assistant Vice President, Desk Assistant - Trading to support front-office operations, bridging traders, technology and control functions on a hybrid basis. You will drive workflow efficiency, implement AI and automation across the desk, manage the full trade lifecycle from execution to settlement, and grow into front-office trading or strategic operations leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience in trade support, middle office, or trading assistant roles in a global bank or financial institution.
• Proficient in Excel with VBA and familiar with trade booking platforms and workflow systems.
• Experience with Python or SQL for automation and data analysis is desirable.
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle across OTC derivatives, listed derivatives, structured notes, and cash equities.
• Attention to detail and a proactive, risk-focused mindset in a fast-paced trading environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute accurate booking of structured notes, OTC derivatives, listed derivatives, and cash equity trades, transitioning from trader to your own name.
• Drive process improvements by identifying opportunities to streamline desk processes and implement AI-driven automation.
• Manage trade lifecycle events in CWM with accuracy and compliance.
• Respond to exceptions and coordinate resolution with Product Control, Middle Office, and Operations.
• Develop and implement new controls, monitoring tools, and automated workflows to enhance desk efficiency and risk mitigation.
• Partner with traders and cross-functional teams to test and implement system enhancements, migrations and process innovations.
