Job summary

Certain Advantage is seeking a Designer / Draughtsperson to produce high-quality technical drawings and designs in our St Helens design team.

You will prepare full engineering packages, including general arrangement drawings in AutoCAD, 3D assemblies in SolidWorks, and structured bills of materials, collaborating with Project Managers and engineers to deliver production-ready documentation on schedule.

Qualifications

• Solid grasp of engineering fundamentals and drawing conventions.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and design documentation using CAD software.
• Translate specifications into production-ready engineering solutions.
• Develop and issue Bills of Materials to support manufacturing.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and stakeholders to meet deadlines.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.

Certain Advantage is seekinga Designer / Draughtsperson to produce high-quality technical drawings and designs.

Role Overview

You will join the Design team to assist the Project Manager in developing drawings from initial concept layouts through to production-ready documentation. You will also prepare full engineering packages, including general arrangement drawings in AutoCAD, 3D assemblies and models in SolidWorks, and structured bills of materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and design documentation using CAD software.
• Translate specifications, sketches, and design concepts into practical, production-focused engineering solutions.
• Develop and issue Bills of Materials to support manufacturing and procurement.
• Work closely with Project Managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to help deliver projects within agreed timescales.
• Ensure designs meet applicable industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Update and amend drawings and models in response to client feedback, design reviews, and changing project needs.
