A Global semiconductor giant based in Cambridge are seeking to bolster their team with a talented CPU Design Verification Engineer.

Please note this opportunity is based on-site in Cambridge and requires rights to work in the UK already in place before starting.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with CPU and SoC Architects to understand high-level system requirements and micro-architectural concepts
• Develop detailed test and coverage plans, verification methodology, and scalable verification environments
• Build verification environments including stimulus, checkers, assertions, trackers, and coverage components
• Execute verification plans, including design and environment bring-up, regression runs, and debugging of test failures
• Track, report, and communicate verification progress using metrics such as bugs and coverage

Requirements:

• Deep knowledge of microprocessor verification, including domains like cache coherence, memory ordering, branch prediction, speculative execution, and address translation
• Experience with Random Instruction Sequencing (RIS) and verifying designs at block, subsystem, and chip levels
• Proven experience leading a small team of verification engineers in CPU design verification
• Proficiency in writing test plans, portable testbenches, transactors, and assembly code
• Familiarity with verification methodologies and tools, including simulators, coverage collection, gate-level simulation, waveform viewers, and formal proof tools
