Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a proactive Design Technology Technician for a supportive secondary school in Hillingdon. You will assist in workshops, CAD/CAM suites, and prep rooms, ensuring equipment is maintained and safety procedures are upheld.

The role involves preparing materials for KS3–KS5 lessons, conducting routine safety checks on machinery, and helping staff during practical sessions. A DBS Check and UK work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Design Technology Technician in an educational setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of COSHH, health and safety regulations, and risk assessment practices.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM equipment such as 3D printers and laser cutters.
• Good organizational skills and ability to work with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for KS3–KS5 classes.
• Service and safety-check workshop machinery and CAD/CAM equipment.
• Assist staff during practical lessons and maintain safe working environments.
• Manage department stock levels and order materials.
• Ensure COSHH and safety procedures are followed across workshops.
