Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a full-time Design Technology Technician in Chesterfield with an immediate start and five days per week. You will support Design Technology lessons, prepare materials and equipment, and help maintain a safe, well-organised workshop environment to enable practical learning.

The school has state-of-the-art DT facilities, and you will help ensure health and safety compliance, assist teachers during practical sessions, and keep equipment and spaces ready for each lesson.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Design Technology lessons.
• Experience in workshop or practical learning environment.
• Knowledge of safe working practices and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons.

Salary: £100 - £110 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary school in Chesterfield that offers state-of-the-art Design Technology facilities. The school provides a well‑equipped environment designed to support practical learning and give students access to high-quality DT resources.

The school is looking to appoint a Design Technology Technician on a full‑time basis, working five days per week for the rest of the academic year with an immediate start. The successful Design Technology Technician will support the preparation of materials and equipment, maintain workshop areas and assist teaching staff to ensure practical lessons run safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• A Health and Safety qualification is preferred but not essential


• Experience working in a Design Technology, workshop or practical learning environment


• Knowledge of safe working practices and equipment maintenance


• Strong organisational skills


• The ability to prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons


• A reliable, proactive and flexible approach
