This great school is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Design and Technology Teacher to join a committed team. You’ll play a vital role in developing the next generation of designers, engineers, and critical thinkers through engaging, real-world projects. Starting September 2025.

Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:
  1. Plan and deliver stimulating lessons in line with the national curriculum
  2. Develop pupils’ creative, practical, and analytical skills through project-based learning
  3. Teach safe and effective use of tools, machinery, and design software (e.g., CAD/CAM)
  4. Track pupil progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
  5. Foster a culture of innovation, resilience, and problem-solving
  6. Manage and maintain a well-organised, safe workshop environment
  7. Work collaboratively with colleagues to enrich the broader STEM curriculum
  8. Contribute to extracurricular clubs, competitions, and showcase events

Minimum qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A relevant degree or equivalent in Design Technology or a related subject
  • Strong subject knowledge in one or more DT specialisms
  • Enthusiasm for hands-on, practical teaching and learning
  • Good classroom management and communication skills
  • A reflective, forward-thinking approach and willingness to innovate
  • Experience with health and safety procedures in a workshop setting
