Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is assisting a fantastic secondary school in Wellingborough to find a Design Technology, Photography or Graphics teacher for a September 2026 start. This is a full-time, long-term role with potential for permanence.

The successful candidate will deliver DT, Photography and Graphics lessons to KS3/KS4, develop practical skills, and prepare students for GCSE while collaborating with a supportive team. A genuine passion for creative education is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching DT, Graphics and Photography in a secondary setting.
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for creative education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging DT, Photography and Graphics lessons across KS3/KS4.
• Develop students' creative, technical and practical skills.
• Encourage ideas, experimentation and independent design work.
• Prepare students for GCSE and other qualifications.
• Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues in a supportive department.

Are you a creative and enthusiastic Design Technology, Photography or Graphics teacher looking for your next opportunity?

We are delighted to be supporting a fantastic secondary school in Wellingborough that is looking for a talented and inspiring teacher to join its creative and technical curriculum from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who enjoys combining creativity, technical skills and practical learning to inspire students and help them develop their confidence and passion for creative subjects.

Your Role

• Delivering engaging and inspiring DT, Photography and Graphics lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Developing students' creative, technical and practical skills
• Encouraging pupils to explore ideas, experiment and develop their own designs
• Supporting students to produce high-quality creative and practical outcomes
• Creating a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment
• Preparing students for GCSE and other relevant qualifications
• Working collaboratively with colleagues within a supportive and creative department

We're Looking For

• QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Experience teaching Design Technology, Graphics and/or Photography within a secondary school
• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for creative education
• Confidence teaching practical and project-based lessons
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• The ability to inspire students and encourage creativity and independence
• A committed and enthusiastic teacher who can contribute positively to the wider school community
