About the role

Connex Education is working with a Secondary School in the Durham area who are recruiting for a DT Teacher to work full- time during term time and is a September start

About the school

The DT teacher role is based in a large multi-academy trust secondary school in the Durham area. The school provide first class education to their students and have an excellent faculty with modern technology and supportive team.

Assignment Details

As a supply DT teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons to secondary school students across Key Stages 3-4. You will deliver lessons that align with the national curriculum and school schemes of work, employ a range of teaching strategies to cater to different learning styles, and manage practical DT activities and workshops in a safe manner. Excellent subject knowledge, classroom management skills, and the ability to foster a positive learning environment are essential for the successful applicant.

Person Specification

  • must be 21 and over
  • Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
  • PGCE in DT or related subject from a recognized provider
  • You must have an enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one
  • Have experience teaching DT in a UK secondary school setting.
  • Be able to plan and deliver engaging KS3 and KS4 DT lessons across ability ranges.
  • Have excellent behaviour management and classroom control skills.
