Job summary

Our Lady’s Catholic High School in the North West of England is seeking a Design Technology Technician to support the Design and Technology department, assisting teachers and the senior technician with resources and equipment used in practical lessons.

This role offers an entry-level path in education, with hands-on experience in workshop safety, materials handling and equipment maintenance, and opportunities to develop new skills while contributing to a positive school environment.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of tools, materials and workshop safety procedures (preferred).
• Ability to follow instructions carefully and work independently.
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn new skills related to design technology equipment.
• Effective communication skills for working collaboratively with staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and the senior technician with preparation and maintenance of resources and equipment used in practical lessons.
• Help set up and support practical design technology activities and demonstrations.
• Contribute to a safe, tidy and well-organised workshop environment.
