Teaching Vacancies is seeking a Teacher of Design Technology for CHS South in Manchester. The role is fixed-term and full-time, Monday to Friday during teaching terms, on the MPS-UPS scale, starting 1 January 2027 and ending 28 February 2028.

The ideal candidate will deliver outstanding lessons with thorough subject knowledge, current curriculum understanding, strong communication skills, and experience teaching the relevant phase.

Qualifications

• Must be suitably qualified to teach Design Technology.
• Experience delivering outstanding lessons.
• Strong understanding of current curriculum developments.
• Ability to plan and develop appropriate learning activities.

Responsibilities

• Promote the academic progress, wellbeing and positive behaviour of all students
• Plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive lessons across Design Technology
• Assess, monitor and report on progress, implementing timely interventions
• Work collaboratively within the team to support the school’s vision
• Reflect on and improve practice through professional development and shared expertise
• Support curriculum development, examinations and school improvement priorities
• Participate in meetings, duties and enrichment activities as required
• Build positive relationships with students, parents/carers and external partners
