Job summary

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team in Brackley, UK is seeking an experienced Creative Designer and Design Team Leader to head our in‑house visual design group, delivering branding, digital, print and signage across the organisation.

You will lead a multi‑disciplinary team, mentor staff and ensure outputs reflect the Mercedes-Benz and team identity while meeting ambitious standards. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong creative direction and collaboration.

Qualifications

• A background in graphic design, digital content, brand or another relevant creative discipline.
• Experience within a creative agency, in-house studio or multidisciplinary creative environment.
• Experience across digital content and digital-first creative delivery.
• Exposure to events, experiential design, hospitality, interiors or physical environments.
• Experience managing external creative agencies, suppliers and production partners.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.

Brackley, UK This is an exciting role for a highly experienced Creative Designer and Design Team Leader to lead our in-house creative visual design team. This role would lead and manage the design team delivering creative and graphics for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team.

The Role

This is an exciting role for a highly experienced Creative Designer and Design Team Leader to lead our in-house creative visual design team. This role would lead and manage the design team delivering creative and graphics for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team.

We’re looking for a multidisciplinary Designer and Manager with a strong portfolio and extensive experience of delivering engaging and creative solutions for all aspects of design, including but not limited to branding, illustrations, digital, print and signage.

Extensive experience in managing multi-disciplinary design teams, mentoring and maximising best in class creative talent.

Working closely with the Head of Design, you will help ensure our creative output consistently reflects the Mercedes-Benz brand, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS identity, our values and ambition.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for delivering graphic designs and creative output for all internal and external stakeholders (Marketing, Partners, Commercial, Internal Departments).
• Working closely with the Head of Design to ensure the brand and design direction translates into all design output.
• End to end management and responsibility of the Mercedes F1 in-house creative visual design team.
• Responsible for mentoring team members and developing the capability of the design team. Providing focused hands-on creative and art direction.
• Responsible for the design team’s translation of the brand identity into graphic and digital design output.
• Responsible for the design team workflow and creative outputs, taking briefs from key stakeholders in the business, delivering graphic design projects from concept to final artwork.
• Ensure the design team have and align their designs with the latest Mercedes-Benz Brand, Team Brand Identity and Partnership Guidelines.
• Bring creativity, diversity of ideas and innovation to the work of the team. Enable the in-house creative visual design team to deliver engaging and creative graphics, illustrations, digital material, presentations, signage, and print materials.
• Manage production and ordering processes to ensure designs and projects are delivered on time and to the agreed standard and cost.
• Manage demand versus delivery and ensure effective resource deployment across the scope of work.
• Confident to manage workload and make timely decisions with minimal supervision to constraining briefs with tight deadlines.
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders at a senior level and a wide range of external suppliers, including architects and creative agencies.
• Support the team photoshoots and filming days providing in studio sign-off on design and branding deliverables.

Candidate Profile

You are an experienced creative leader with a proven track record of leading, developing and getting the best from multidisciplinary creative teams.

Your background could span graphic design, digital content, brand, agency or another creative discipline. More important than your individual specialism is your ability to recognise great creative work, provide clear direction and bring together different disciplines to deliver effectively.

You will combine strong creative judgement with excellent people leadership, organisation and decision-making skills. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, you will be able to balance multiple briefs, resources and stakeholders while maintaining high standards of creative delivery.
