Job summary

White Horse Employment are seeking a hands-on engineer with a proven track record in specialist coachbuilding and bespoke vehicle design. You will own projects from initial brief to customer handover, producing CAD drawings (SolidWorks preferred) and coordinating with customers, suppliers and the workshop.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in specialist coachbuilding, bespoke vehicle design or a similar specialist engineering environment.
• Strong CAD experience.
• Ability to produce and interpret technical drawings.
• Experience managing projects from design through to completion.
• Strong understanding of materials, fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work independently and take full ownership of projects.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design bespoke coachbuilding and specialist vehicle projects from customer brief through to handover.
• Produce drawings using a CAD system, preferably SolidWorks, and liaise with customers and suppliers to define specifications.
• Manage allocated projects to completion on time, within budget and to specification.
• Coordinate material requisition and ensure required materials and labour are available.
• Carry out final project inspections and ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and internal procedures.
• Provide guidance to workshop staff and support with design information and technical queries.
• Assist with warranty queries and document all warranty work.
