Job summary

Brooklyn Recruitment is seeking a Design Engineer in the Derbyshire area (Chesterfield / Clay Cross) to design vehicle conversions using SolidWorks, delivering from concept to completion in an office-based role. You will create designs for customer sign-off, produce BOMs, check feasibility, and work with production to develop prototypes and bespoke vehicles.

The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks and knowledge of aluminium and stainless steel, within an automotive/fabrication

Qualifications

• Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for 3D models and 2D drawings.
• Experience in Automotive / Fabrication / Vehicle Conversion settings.
• Ability to produce and maintain BOMs.
• Knowledge of aluminium and stainless steel materials.

Responsibilities

• Create designs for customer sign off.
• Produce BOMs.
• Check specifications for feasibility.
• Develop and maintain build manuals for core product range.
• Develop prototype and bespoke vehicles with production staff.
• Record design changes.
• Use SolidWorks to create 3D models.
• Other duties as required.
