Job summary

Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) is seeking a Design and Project Engineer for a contract position based with our client in Stoke. Immediate start available. Day rate: £400 to £450 per day, depending on experience and skillset.

The role focuses on delivering practical design solutions, managing projects to completion, and ensuring client satisfaction while maintaining high-quality outputs and on-time delivery. International travel may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Extensive design engineering experience in manufacturing environments.
• Strong project management and coordination from concept to completion.
• Ability to liaise with clients and suppliers to meet requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engineered design solutions aligned with client needs and project timelines.
• Lead design reviews and ensure drawings meet manufacturing standards.
• Manage external contractors and inputs to support project delivery.
• Prepare quotations and cost estimates for client proposals.
• Ensure quality, schedule and cost targets are met throughout the project.
