Job summary

A dedicated engineering recruitment company is seeking a Project Engineer for their St Helens location. This permanent role includes hands-on project management, working closely with design and production teams. Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as a Mechanical Site Project Manager.
  • Prior background in heavy industrial sector.
  • CSCS card and SMSTS certificate required.
  • Full UK driving licence essential.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure designs can be manufactured continuously.
  • Manage project procurement and engage with suppliers.
  • Attend site meetings and provide progress information.
  • Assist in maintaining the quality management system.

Discipline: Project Engineer ( Local Only )
Location: St Helens, Liverpool
Rate of Pay: Dependant on experience £35k-£40k
Start date: Immediate
Duration: Permanent

The Role:

Due to recent major project wins, our client is currently recruiting for a project Manager for their site based in St Helens. The roles will be office based for the start of the role and then will be moved onto site on various locations across the UKDuties will include:

  • Workingwith the Design and Production teams to manage the project through to delivery.This position will have a wide range of roles and responsibilities and isuniquely challenging. They would engage in all aspects of the businessincluding commercial and business elements, as well as the core role ofEngineering.
  • Youwill support early design concepts with Design to Manufacture. Working with themanufacture team to develop processes and overseeing the project from handoverto delivery
  • Keyresponsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • ·Collaborate with design & manufacturing teams
  • ·Ensure designs can be manufactured continuously
  • Workwith Planning and Production to ensure timely production with optimalprocesses.
  • Manage project procurement and engage with suppliers
  • Regular reporting and follow up internally and with clients. Reportingnon-conformances and liaising with suppliers.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients to ensure thatcontracts are delivered in accordance with project agreements and bestpractice.
  • Attend site meetings, effectively communicate and provide information forprogress reports.
  • Recording and reporting key metrics to team members and management
  • Control of all customer specifications, drawings and modifications.
  • Project management.
  • Assist and maintain the quality management system to ISO9001:2015 standard.
  • Competent in reading technical drawings.
  • FutureOpportunities to be part of the project management of high profile contracts inthe Power Construction Industry
  • Trainingto develop into a Lead Project Manager on high value contracts.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as a Mechanical Site Project Manager
  • Prior background in heavy industrial sector
  • CSCS card
  • SMSTS certificate
  • HND or equivalent in mechanical engineering / construction
  • Excellent people management skills and a proven ability to manage teams
  • Ability to make quick decisions and find solutions if any issues or problems arise
  • Ability to deal with complex tasks and deliver them to a set budget and timescale
  • Ability to build relationships with clients
  • Clear communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail - accurate and methodical in work.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
