Job summary

Youth Sport Trust is seeking a Design Officer to support the Enrichment Expansion Programme. The role blends print and digital design, turning briefs into engaging outputs and ensuring brand consistency across materials.

You will collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team, manage multiple briefs, and apply accessible design principles. Proficiency in Adobe CC, Canva, HTML/CSS awareness and digital asset management are valued.

Qualifications

Design Officer

6-month fixed-term contract, with potential to extend

£29,000 per annum

Hybrid (3 days in the Loughborough Office and 2 days working from home)

Are you a creative designer with a passion for producing engaging, high-quality work across print and digital channels?

We are looking for a Design Officer to join our Marketing and Communications team and support the delivery of the Enrichment Expansion Programme (EEP) – an exciting national programme delivered by the Youth Sport Trust on behalf of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), alongside programme partners.

Working closely with colleagues across the Youth Sport Trust and with external partners, you will turn communications requirements and creative briefs into engaging and accessible design solutions. From initial concepts through to final artwork, you will help ensure programme communications are visually impactful, consistent and effectively bring the programme to life.

As Design Officer, you will create high-quality, engaging and accessible design materials across a range of print and digital channels. This could include resources, reports, social media and web assets, posters, flyers, publications, event materials and email campaigns. You will take design briefs from initial concept through to finished artwork, bringing creativity and strong visual thinking while ensuring the EEP, Youth Sport Trust and partner brands are applied consistently.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Youth Sport Trust and with programme partners, you will help translate communications requirements into effective creative solutions, providing advice on formats, production requirements and design approaches. You will manage a varied workload of design briefs and deadlines, contribute creative ideas to strengthen programme communications and support the management of our digital image library, including selecting, editing and processing imagery.

We are looking for an experienced and creative designer with strong practical knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat. You will have experience of producing high-quality digital and print materials, developing creative concepts and preparing finished artwork, alongside a strong understanding of design principles including typography, imagery, composition and layout.

You will have excellent attention to detail and be confident managing multiple briefs and competing deadlines. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are important, as you will work with a range of colleagues and external partners. You will also understand the importance of accessible and inclusive design and bring a collaborative, flexible and solutions-focused approach to your work.

Experience or knowledge of areas such as Canva, digital image libraries, UX principles, HTML and CSS, email marketing platforms, or video editing and animation would also be welcomed.
