Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Design & Manufacturing Engineer in Cramlington. The role blends product design, 3D CAD modelling and manufacturing engineering, taking projects from concept through to production.

You will work with SolidWorks and Fusion 360, develop new products, modify existing ones, and produce detailed drawings, BOMs and documentation while supporting prototype testing and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Design Engineer or similar role.
• Proven ability to design and document products.

Responsibilities

Salary: £42,000-£45,000

Working Pattern: Full Time, Days Only

About the Role

We're looking for a Design & Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This role combines product design, 3D CAD modelling and practical manufacturing engineering, offering the opportunity to take projects from initial concept through to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies and technical drawings using SolidWorks and Fusion 360
• Design and develop new products from concept through to manufacture
• Modify and improve existing products to enhance performance, quality and manufacturability
• Produce manufacturing drawings, bills of materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation
• Support prototype development, testing and validation activities
• Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure efficient product delivery
• Assist with tooling, fixtures and manufacturing process improvements
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal departments to define design requirements
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across both design and manufacturing functions

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a Design Engineer, Product Design Engineer or Design & Manufacturing Engineer position
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and/or Fusion 360
• Ability to create accurate engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, assembly or sheet metal
• Practical engineering mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and project coordination abilities
