Job summary

Fawkes & Reece Group seeks an experienced Design Manager to lead the design and technical delivery of water and wastewater projects across the UK. You will oversee the full design lifecycle from concept through construction and handover, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring safe, compliant, and commercially viable solutions.

You will work with clients, contractors, and operational stakeholders, drive innovation and low-carbon engineering, manage programmes and budgets, and mentor

Qualifications

• Experience in water/wastewater, utilities or wider infrastructure sectors.
• Strong leadership and communication skills for coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ability to balance programme, cost, quality and safety with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams across multiple projects.
• Manage the design delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure assets.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards, regulatory requirements and client specs.
• Manage design programmes, resources, budgets, risks and change control.
• Act as technical lead between clients, engineering teams and contractors.
• Mentor engineers and designers to develop technical capability.
• Oversee design approvals and handover from design to construction.
