Job summary

Six Ventures Ltd. is seeking a technically strong Design Manager to lead the design and delivery of mechanical and building services across projects in the Leeds area.

The role suits an experienced Design Manager or an engineer ready to step up into management, with duties spanning concept through installation and handover. You will coordinate design activities, support commercial decisions and identify cost-effective solutions while liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in mechanical engineering or building services.
• Experience coordinating design activities across multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to review technical drawings and specifications and provide input.
• Commercial awareness and ability to support cost-focused decisions.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate design activities from concept through delivery and installation.
• Review and develop designs for building services and related equipment.
• Provide technical input across mechanical and building services disciplines (HVAC, plumbing, controls).
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams to resolve design issues.
• Ensure designs meet project requirements, regulations and quality standards.
• Identify cost-effective design solutions and support procurement with technical information.
• Assist with estimating and costing, reviewing materials and equipment needs.
• Support value engineering and communicate design changes to stakeholders.
