Job summary

Falcon Green is seeking a Design Manager to lead the design process from pre-construction through delivery on major London schemes. You will work closely with site teams, consultants, subcontractors and clients to ensure coordinated, practical and compliant design solutions.

Applicants must have site-based Design Management experience with a main contractor and the ability to drive decisions, manage design risk and chair design meetings across Commercial and Residential projects.

Qualifications

• Must have site-based design management experience working directly for a main contractor.
• Experience delivering projects on site for a recognised main contractor.
• Strong understanding of buildability, sequencing and construction methodology.
• Experience coordinating consultants and subcontractor design.
• Exposure to commercial, residential or other major building projects.
• Confidence to challenge design teams and drive decisions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Candidates from architectural practice or consultancy backgrounds will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage design information, programmes and approvals.
• Coordinate consultants and specialist subcontractors.
• Identify and resolve design risks before they affect the build.
• Support procurement and construction teams with technical information.
• Chair design meetings and drive actions through to completion.
• Ensure the design is practical, compliant and fully coordinated.
• Maintain a strong link between the design function and the site team.
