Job summary

Falcon Green is seeking a Design Manager to lead the design process from pre-construction through delivery on major London schemes. You will work closely with site teams, consultants, subcontractors and clients to ensure coordinated, practical and compliant design solutions.

Applicants must have site-based Design Management experience with a main contractor and the ability to drive decisions, manage design risk and chair design meetings across Commercial and Residential projects.

Qualifications

• Must have site-based design management experience working directly for a main contractor.
• Experience delivering projects on site for a recognised main contractor.
• Strong understanding of buildability, sequencing and construction methodology.
• Experience coordinating consultants and subcontractor design.
• Exposure to commercial, residential or other major building projects.
• Confidence to challenge design teams and drive decisions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Candidates from architectural practice or consultancy backgrounds will not be considered.

Responsibilities

A leading Tier 1 Main Contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to join its established London team.

The contractor delivers a varied portfolio of major London schemes, including large-scale commercial developments and high-rise residential projects. This means you will gain exposure to different sectors, project stages and technical challenges rather than being tied to one type of build.

The Role

You will take responsibility for managing the design process through pre-construction and delivery, working closely with site teams, consultants, subcontractors and the client.
