Job Description:

We are seeking an exceptional Design Manager, an action-oriented leader ready to help build the strategic design function within Karo.

The Design Lead/Manager will be the creative lead and brand guardian for our Intimate and Digestive Health Category, creating seamless multichannel consumer experiences that connect our brands to consumers at critical moments. Responsibilities include managing existing portfolios, innovation, product & communications, digital & physical channels.

The role involves hands-on design work from day one, managing and directing external agencies and internal teams to deliver brand assets, campaigns, products, and packaging on time.

The Design Manager will collaborate with the Global Category Lead and Brand Managers for brands like Multi-Gyn, Pevaryl, and our Proct portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Applying design thinking methodologies for brand building and innovation
  2. Developing brand toolkits and guidelines
  3. Implementing circular and sustainable design principles
  4. Fostering inclusive design practices

Design Experience:

  • Creating holistic, multichannel creative content and assets
  • Developing ownable, distinctive assets to enhance brand recall
  • Delivering high-quality brand assets across channels
  • Providing creative direction for brands
  • Designing for sensory experiences (sonic, haptic, etc.)

Design Quality:

  • Producing high-quality visual brand language (VBL) assets
  • Establishing VBL guidelines
  • Creating strategic portfolio architectures and packaging designs
  • Thinking digitally-first for packaging formats and experiences
  • Collaborating with production teams on print quality and standards

Design Talent & Community:

  • Participating in the Design Leadership Team
  • Building design resource networks
  • Embedding a culture of collaboration and excellence within Karo
  • Inspiring design culture across the organization

Design Budgets:

  • Managing budgets for the Intimate and Digestive health category brands

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant design experience and 1-2 years in a leadership role
  • Management & leadership qualifications (preferred)
  • Expertise in strategic design methodologies
  • Understanding of design for business and consumer healthcare (preferred)
  • Strong creative direction skills
  • Knowledge of inclusive, circular, and sustainable design
  • Experience across product, packaging, shopper, digital, and omnichannel experiences
  • Proficiency in industry software (Adobe CC, 3D CAD, rendering, etc.)
  • Knowledge of product design, structural packaging, and print processes
  • Experience liaising with manufacturing and suppliers
