Job summary

The role seeks an organised Design Manager to oversee the design process from pre-construction to practical completion. You will coordinate between client, external consultants, sub-contractors, and internal teams to ensure buildability, cost-effectiveness, compliance, and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities include coordinating design packages, supporting tender stages, evaluating design options for value engineering, and ensuring adherence to regulations and project milestones.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design Coordinator within a UK Main Contractor or Architectural consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Design Coordination: Manage external design teams to program and budget.
• Pre-Construction Support: Review employer requirements and identify design risks/opportunities.
• Value Engineering: Identify cost-effective, sustainable design options.
• Compliance & Approvals: Ensure designs meet Building Regulations and client specs.
• RFI & Submittals Management: Handle technical queries and RFIs with a release program.
• Buildability Reviews: Conduct design reviews to minimise on-site variations.
