Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc in Derby, in partnership with Rolls-Royce, seeks an experienced Design Manager to coordinate complex design activities on a major expansion project. You will ensure design information is coordinated, delivered on time and compliant with technical requirements.

Join a team delivering high standards of quality, safety and buildability while guiding cross-disciplinary design efforts from concept to construction, shaping outcomes on a landmark programme.

Qualifications

• Proven Design Manager or design leadership experience in construction.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and packages.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, compliance and buildability.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and design documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design activities across disciplines, ensuring timely, accurate information.
• Collaborate with client, consultants, subcontractors and project teams to resolve design challenges.
• Review information for compliance with specs, standards and project requirements.
• Monitor design programmes, identify risks and implement mitigation to prevent delays.
• Manage design reviews, technical submissions and design queries.
• Facilitate effective communication between design and site teams for smooth transition to construction.
