Job summary

McLaughlin & Harvey, one of the leading Building and Civil Engineering Contractors operating throughout the UK and Ireland, is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join the team.

You will manage design teams, oversee internal and external consultant design work, and ensure that design information is produced to time, to quality, and in compliance with legislation and standards. The role includes coordinating design processes with project teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Construction design/management experience required.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities essential.
• Ability to manage design processes across teams and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Manage design process using commercial, contractual and programme awareness.
• Coordinate internal and external design consultant teams.
• Prepare and monitor design information release schedules and matrices.
• Lead design team meetings and coordination workshops.
• Ensure design content complies with legislation, standards and CDM.
• Develop drawing/document control systems and protocols.
• Collaborate with Project Manager/Planner on construction programme.
• Assist Commercial Team with procurement schedules.
• Engage with clients to manage expectations and requirements.
• Support on-site SHEQ and health and safety plan preparations.
