Job Title: Design Manager

Location: Swindon

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

We're looking for a talented and experienced person to join our team in Swindon and to make a positive impact within our growing business. Managing the design process from pre-construction through to and including the construction phase for projects up to £30m.

Job Purpose:

Managing the design process from the pre-construction stage to provide compliant, accurate, and timely design information using experience, knowledge, and technical expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Plan all aspects of the project, identify challenges, and propose cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure compliance with current legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
• Minimize health, safety, and financial risks during construction.
• Maintain quality information flow to meet project timelines.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders through open and clear communication.

Experience:

• Understanding of traditional construction and Design & Build (D&B).
• Thorough knowledge of CDM regulations.
• Experience with software such as BIM and 4Projects.

Candidate qualities:

• Ability to work well independently and in a team.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.
• Knowledge of alternative procurement methods, including frameworks, negotiated, and two-stage tenders.
