Job Title: Design Manager

We're looking for a talented and experienced person to join our team in Preston and to make a positive impact within our growing business. Managing the design process from pre-construction through to and including the construction phase for projects up to £30m.

Job Purpose

Managing the design process from the pre-construction stage to provide compliant, accurate and timely design information using experience, knowledge and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Planning all aspects of the project, identifying challenges and providing cost-effective solutions
• Ensuring compliance with current legislation, standards, and codes of practice
• Eliminating health, safety, and financial risks during construction
• Maintaining a flow of quality information to ensure project timelines are met
• Building strong relationships with all stakeholders with open and clear communication

Experience

• Understanding of traditional construction and Design & Build (D&B)
• Thorough understanding of CDM regulations
• Knowledge of software such as BIM and 4Projects

Candidate Qualities

• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills at all levels
• Understanding of various procurement methods, including frameworks, negotiated, and two-stage tenders
