Job Description

Our client is a leading Engineering and Construction main contracting company, delivering design-and-build projects throughout the UK across various industry sectors. Due to growth within their Energy business, they are seeking a Design Manager to work on Battery Energy Storage schemes across the UK. This is a developing business unit where you can contribute to their growth strategy for many years to come.

Responsibilities:

1. Be part of the Engineering Senior Management Team.
2. Be accountable for the success of the Engineering service delivery.
3. Develop strong and productive relationships with clients to ensure work exceeds expectations, benefiting customers and the environment.
4. Plan, execute, monitor, and control engineering outputs related to scope, time, cost, quality, resources, communications, risks, and stakeholders.
5. Lead delivery and assurance processes to ensure compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (2015), acting as Principal Designer and Designer.
6. Oversee performance management, mentoring, recognition, learning and development, and corrective actions within the team.
7. Provide technical support to the wider teams.

Experience required:

1. Previous experience in the Battery Energy Storage industry.
2. Degree qualification (or equivalent) in engineering or science.
3. Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent).
4. Experience managing and developing a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
5. Experience designing systems from LV to 400kV voltage levels.

Package on offer:

• Salary range: £90,000 - £100,000.
• Car allowance of circa £9,000 or a company car.
• Company bonus scheme.
• Flexible pension contributions: invest up to 5% of your salary, and the company will contribute an additional 10%.
