Job summary

Rullion Ltd is seeking a Design Manager for a permanent role near Whitehaven. The role is on-site, 40 hours per week, with ASAP start subject to security clearance and a £DOE salary plus a £6,000 car allowance.

You will lead design delivery, chair design reviews with clients and external parties, and ensure health, safety, environment, and quality are integrated at all design stages. A civil engineering degree and 5–10 years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required.
• 5–10 years experience in civil design/construction roles.
• Knowledge of NEC 3/NEC 4 desirable.
• UK Security Vetting/SC clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Complete design on time and within budget, including design reviews and hazard/risk reduction.
• Provide technical support on the project.
• Prioritise health, safety, welfare, environment and quality across all design stages.
• Manage and chair design reviews with Client and external parties.
• Prepare and manage the design deliverables schedule to meet deadlines and budget.

Hours of work: 40 hours per week , Monday to Friday - Onsite 5 days per week

Role information:

• Completion of design on time and within budget including successful completion of design reviews, stage gates, construction reviews and hazard/risk reduction procedures.
• To provide technical support on the project.
• To ensure health, safety, welfare, environment, quality are considered as a core function of design at all stages, decisions and outcomes clearly communicated to construction and operation team
• Manage and chair design reviews/interface meetings with Client and external parties.
• Prepare and manage the design deliverables schedule - delivery on time and in budget.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Candidates Must hold an engineering degree in the relevant engineering discipline
• Min 5-10 years experience of civil engineering or similar design and construction projects
• Demonstrate understanding and working knowledge of construction methods and outputs.
• Understanding of specific design and engineering procedures.
• A clear understanding of the commercial and contractual interfaces with the engineering function and design subcontracts - NEC 3/NEC 4 - Desirable
• Professional Qualification - APM, Prince 2 - Desirable
• UK Security Vetting Status – All candidates must be able to obtain SC clearance
