Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Design Manager to lead the design process on a Cambridge-based project. You will oversee design information delivery, manage design consultants and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with standards and safety requirements.

Experience in a main contractor environment, BIM Level 2 knowledge (COBie data), and a relevant construction degree are required. A full driving licence is also expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree in Architecture, Construction Management or Engineering.
• Experience delivering design information in a main contractor environment.
• Experience with BIM Level 2 projects and COBie data.

Responsibilities

• Managing and delivering design information in accordance with agreed programmes and schedules.
• Ensuring design consultants fulfil their duties and comply with standards and project briefs.
• Assessing, mitigating and managing design-related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Chairing design meetings, writing reports and presenting to stakeholders.
• Producing design programmes, scopes, responsibility matrices and schedules whilst ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and sustainable building standards.

We're looking for a Design Manager to join our team based in Cambridge.

Location

Waterbeach, Cambridge

What will you be responsible for?

As a Design Manager, you'll be the subject matter expert on your assigned project, leading the design process and ensuring excellence throughout. You may also support tender and pre-construction design management on pipeline projects.

• Managing and delivering design information in accordance with agreed programmes and schedules
• Ensuring design consultants fulfil their duties and comply with standards and project briefs
• Assessing, mitigating and managing design-related risks throughout the project lifecycle
• Chairing design meetings, writing reports and presenting to stakeholders
• Producing design programmes, scopes, responsibility matrices and schedules whilst ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and sustainable building standards

What are we looking for?

• You have demonstrable experience in a design role within a main contractor environment
• You hold a relevant construction qualification (Degree/HND or equivalent) in Architecture, Construction Management or Engineering
• You have experience of BIM level 2 projects, including COBie data
• You possess excellent attention to detail and strong stakeholder management skills
• You hold a full driving licence
