Brandon James Ltd is seeking an experienced Design Manager to support delivery of construction projects across the South East. The role focuses on owning the design process and coordinating consultants, architects and designers from pre-construction through to completion.
You will review drawings and technical submissions, manage design programmes, identify risks and ensure compliance with building regulations and project requirements.

As Design Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the design process from pre-construction through to project completion.
Typical duties will include:
Managing consultants, architects and specialist designers.
Coordinating design information across multiple disciplines.
Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
Managing design programmes and ensuring information is issued on time.
Identifying design risks and resolving technical issues.
Working closely with project managers, commercial teams and site teams.
Attending design team meetings and liaising with clients and consultants.
Ensuring designs comply with building regulations, specifications and project requirements.
The Design Manager will play an important role in ensuring projects are technically coordinated and delivered efficiently.
The successful Design Manager should have previous design management experience within the UK construction industry, ideally gained with a main contractor or established regional contractor.
Applicants should ideally have:
A degree or HNC/HND in Construction, Architecture, Engineering or a related discipline.
Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and construction methods.
Previous experience coordinating consultants and subcontractor design.
Experience working with design programmes and technical information.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Knowledge of BIM processes would be beneficial.
CSCS and relevant construction qualifications would be advantageous.
The position offers a salary of £65,000 – £75,000 per annum + package, depending on experience.
