What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a Design Manager to join Galliford Try within our Oak Business, ideally based in or around Uxbridge.

• Lead the design management of high-rise building projects as the Main Contractor.
• Manage planning, BCO, NHBC, BSR approvals, and identify critical timeframes, managing the discharge process.
• Review and coordinate consultant and contractor design outputs, ensuring alignment and managing approvals.
• Collaborate with the Façade design department to align design expectations with delivery schedules.
• Provide construction-conscious guidance during RIBA stages, reviewing designs for buildability and minimizing complex details.
• Establish and manage the design programme and information release schedule aligned with the master construction plan.
• Prioritize workload and manage multiple projects across different RIBA stages.
• Develop documentation for contractor proposals and manage project fee schedules and approvals.
• Ensure compliance with ERs, CPs, statutory requirements, and manage RFIs/TQs.

About You:

• Extensive experience as a Design Manager on diverse projects.
• Fire remediation experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Experience with BSR application management is beneficial.
• Line management and team leadership experience.
• Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Field view experience is essential.
• Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.
• Analytical problem-solving ability.
• Client-focused with excellent relationship-building skills.
• Decisive and able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Effective leadership capabilities.
