Job summary

Anglian Water Group Ltd. seeks a Design Manager to lead the engineering design delivery for water recycling projects in the West region, Peterborough.

You will head a multidisciplinary team, champion innovative, sustainable solutions, and drive better outcomes through digital engineering and continuous improvement. You will work within the @one Alliance, shaping capital projects, ensuring CDM compliance, and delivering high-quality design for a £9bn investment programme that safeguards water

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (or equivalent).
• Chartered, or working towards Chartered status.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams on capital projects.
• Strong understanding of CDM regulations and design responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design delivery across a portfolio of water recycling and wastewater projects.
• Develop and manage Engineering Project Plans covering scope, programme, cost, risk and resources.
• Direct multi-disciplinary teams (process, mechanical, electrical, civil) to deliver high-quality design solutions.
• Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to integrate designs effectively.
• Drive affordability, value and low-carbon, environmentally sustainable solutions.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and lead a strong health & safety culture.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing engineering team.
• Support innovation, standardisation and the use of digital engineering (including 3D modelling).
• Work closely with wider alliance functions (delivery, procurement, construction) to achieve project outcomes.

**Design Manager – Water Recycling West****Hybrid – Peterborough (3 days per week in the office for those within the Anglian Water region; flexible hybrid options available for candidates based further afield)** Join the award-winning @one Alliance, delivering a £9bn investment programme to safeguard water resources, enhance the environment, and support sustainable growth across the East of England—one of the UK’s most water-stressed regions. **The Role** We’re looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead the engineering design delivery of a diverse portfolio of water recycling projects across the West region. You’ll head up a multi-disciplinary engineering team, driving innovative and sustainable solutions that improve wastewater treatment performance, reduce carbon, and enhance natural capital.
