Job summary

Fawkes & Reece Group is seeking a Design Manager to oversee design assurance on major infrastructure projects and ensure timely delivery within budget and quality targets.

You will optimise assurance processes, manage design changes, and work closely with clients while maintaining CDM compliance and health and safety risk controls.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience delivering complex projects to time, cost and quality targets.
• Strong organisational, planning and communication skills.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit or BIM.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

Design Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects, overseeing design assurance and ensuring works are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Optimising engineering assurance processes for designs developed by external design partners.
• Managing design changes and acting as the main point of contact for technical queries throughout the design and construction phases.
• Working closely with the client to understand their requirements and ensure these are successfully delivered.
• Maintaining compliance with design quality procedures and promoting a right-first-time approach.
• Ensuring compliance with Construction (Design and Management) (CDM) regulations and proactively managing design-related health and safety risks.

This Design Manager role is ideal for you if you:

• Have an engineering degree or equivalent experience.
