Job Title: Design Manager

Project: Large RC Frame Development (1200 Units)

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Manager (Number 2) to oversee the design and coordination for a major RC frame residential development comprising 1200 units in South East London. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale, high-profile project that will make a significant impact on the local community.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support with the design process from concept to completion, ensuring that the design meets both client expectations and regulatory requirements.
2. Oversee and coordinate the work of external consultants and internal teams to ensure all aspects of the design align with the project goals.
3. Act as the key liaison between the design team, contractors, and the client, facilitating smooth communication and problem-solving.
4. Ensure that design work is delivered on time and within budget, addressing any design challenges that may arise during the construction process.
5. Lead the development of design strategies to optimise project delivery and ensure that the development complies with all legal, technical, and quality standards.
6. Review and approve design documents, reports, and specifications.

Required Skills & Experience:

1. Proven experience as a Design Manager or Coordinator or similar role within the construction industry, ideally on large-scale residential or RC frame projects.
2. Strong knowledge of design management processes, construction techniques, and regulations.
3. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
4. A degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field is desirable.
