Job Title: Design Manager – Power Transmission & Distribution

Contract Duration: 6 Months

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Design Manager to oversee engineering design projects in the power transmission & distribution sector. This role involves managing projects from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of engineering design projects, ensuring compliance with design processes and timelines.
• Manage project teams, coordinating across global offices.
• Oversee project management activities, including FEED, planning, estimating, constructability reviews, and design support during construction.
• Ensure safety, quality, and environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
• Report on project progress, cost, schedule, and any potential risks.
• Lead project meetings and support proposal and contract negotiations.
• Champion 'Safety by Design' and a culture of technical excellence.
• Support business development, client relationships, and recruitment efforts.

Requirements:

• Strong experience in design management within the power transmission & distribution sector.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., APM, PMP, PRINCE2).
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Expertise in managing safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in SMART Grid or renewable energy projects.
• Familiarity with UK T&D and grid connection projects.
