At Octavius Infrastructure, we are committed to excellence in delivering innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions. We are currently seeking a talented Design Manager to join our team. Working on Network Rail's North-West & Central Enhancements Framework and Access for All schemes. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact schemes that significantly enhance the railway infrastructure across multiple regions. The locations of these works could be across Southern or in between Stratford and London.

Role Overview

As Design Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the design aspects of projects ranging from £7m to £20m in value. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure that all design work meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design process from conception to completion, ensuring all designs meet project requirements and specifications.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and contractors, to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Oversee the preparation of design documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Manage design-related risks, identifying and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with Network Rail and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the design team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Ensure all design activities are delivered within budget and on schedule.
  
  

Qualifications And Experience

• Degree in an Engineering discipline.
• Working towards Professional membership with a recognized institution (e.g., ICE, MIET, IEE, IMechE).
• Experience in design management within the rail infrastructure sector.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale projects on Network Rail infrastructure.
• Knowledge of relevant design standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
