Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an Associate Design Manager to lead multi-disciplinary teams on large UK water and wastewater projects. You will coordinate design across disciplines, manage client relationships and drive delivery excellence, safety, and sustainability.

The role offers leadership opportunities within Arcadis’ Water Optimisation team, with a pathway toward senior management and a strong focus on delivering major AMP8 programmes across the country.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Process Engineering or related field.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with membership of ICE, IMechE, IET, IChemE, or CIWEM.
• Relevant water industry experience.
• Takes accountability and leads by example.
• Extensive experience in contract, commercial, project & programme management.
• Extensive experience with complex design and delivery frameworks and/or design and build projects.
• Digitally curious and/or proficient.
• Excellent communicator across levels and organisations.
• Demonstrates ability to build and sustain teams.
• Exhibits Arcadis values.

Responsibilities

• Technically lead and coordinate complex multi-disciplinary wastewater or water treatment projects and programmes through the design life cycle.
• Collaborate with clients, partner organisations and supply chain to maintain Arcadis’ reputation for high-quality, innovative design and client experience.
• Build and sustain resources for project delivery and support recruitment planning.
• Work with Portfolio Director, Project Manager and Commercial team to manage the programme, ensure commercial rigour and profitability.
• Provide line management, career direction and pastoral care to team members.
• Promote a culture of safety, health, quality and sustainability.
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement in engineering technology.
• Perform other duties as required by Client Manager or Arcadis SLT.
• Work with other Arcadis teams to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
