Job summary

THE COLLECTIVE NETWORK LIMITED is seeking a Design Engineer in Buckinghamshire to join a high-performance engineering team. The role focuses on turning customer concepts into production-ready designs and managing projects from concept to delivery within a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in design engineering, strong CAD skills (CATIA V5, NX, SolidWorks or Creo), and a meticulous approach to drawings and documentation.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Motorsport Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years’ experience in a design engineering role.
• Experience using CAD packages such as CATIA V5, Siemens NX, SolidWorks or Creo.
• Strong engineering drawing interpretation skills.
• The ability to interpret technical documents and extract relevant engineering data.
• A methodical approach to problem-solving, with strong analytical and non-verbal reasoning skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
• The confidence to manage your own workload while working effectively as part of a wider engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Developing customer concepts into detailed, production-ready designs.
• Supporting larger engineering projects while independently managing smaller projects from concept through to delivery.
• Producing, interpreting and modifying engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Using CAD software to develop accurate and practical design solutions.
• Extracting and interpreting technical information to ensure designs meet project requirements.
• Working closely with design colleagues and manufacturing teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Ensuring designs are accurate, manufacturable and delivered to the required standards.
• Contributing to continuous improvement and the development of new engineering solutions.
