Job summary

Tandem Personnel is assisting a Diss-based engineering manufacturer to recruit a Design Engineer. You will contribute to innovative, bespoke mechanical products from concept through to production, using SolidWorks and AutoCAD LT, and collaborating closely with other departments.

The role requires a proactive problem-solver with mechanical design experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a mechanical design engineering role (essential).
• A Mechanical Engineering qualification (desirable).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines.
• Professional, self-motivated and solutions-focused.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate 2D and 3D detail and assembly drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD LT.
• Collaborate with Sales, Projects, Purchasing, Production, customers, and suppliers on technical requirements and solutions.
• Produce Bills of Materials (BOMs), CE documentation, and O&M manuals.
• Provide technical support to production teams.
• Attend site surveys and support installations when required.
• Ensure all designs comply with Health & Safety standards and customer specifications.
• Support projects from concept through to manufacture and installation.
