Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Design Engineer for a manufacturing/fabrication environment in Wolverhampton. You will produce technical drawings and designs for standard and bespoke products, collaborating with production and commercial teams to ensure accurate delivery.

Ideal candidates have design engineering experience, a manufacturing background, and SolidWorks knowledge, with opportunities to develop within a long-established steel systems business offering bonuses and progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Design Engineer, CAD Engineer or similar technical role.
• Background within manufacturing, fabrication or engineering.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks and manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed manufacturing drawings for standard and bespoke products.
• Develop designs in line with customer specifications and project requirements.
• Interpret technical drawings and ensure designs are suitable for manufacture.
• Work closely with production, estimating and commercial teams.
• Learn specialist high-security fencing and perimeter security systems.
• Work towards design delivery targets with performance-related bonus opportunities.
