Ernest-Gordon-Recruitment-Limited is recruiting a Design Engineer to join a rapidly growing renewable energy company. You will design and develop systems from initial concept through to installation, using AutoCAD and related CAD software across commercial, industrial and domestic projects.

The role offers training, progression and a bonus, with a 37.5-hour week and a Monday–Friday schedule, commuting to Lichfield.

• Experience using AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
• Experience producing technical drawings for engineering or construction projects.
• Commutable to Lichfield.

Responsibilities

• Produce technical drawings, layouts and design packs.
• Complete performance assessments and design calculations.

Are you a Design Engineer with experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software looking to join a rapidly growing renewable energy company offering specialist training, project variety and long‑term progression?

On offer is the opportunity to join a specialist Solar PV and Battery Storage business delivering innovative renewable energy projects across the commercial, industrial and domestic sectors. You'll play a key role in the design and development of projects from initial concept through to installation, working alongside experienced engineers and project teams.

This company is continuing to expand its presence within the renewable energy sector and is looking to strengthen its in-house design capability. You will be joining a collaborative technical team where your designs will directly influence project performance, buildability and commercial success.

In this role, you will produce detailed system layouts, technical drawings and performance assessments for a variety of commercial and industrial projects. You will utilise AutoCAD and industry-specific software to develop accurate and buildable designs whilst coordinating with project managers, procurement teams and installation engineers throughout project delivery. Full training on Solar PV design software and renewable energy systems can be provided for candidates with a strong engineering design background.

The Role:
