Job summary

Stirling Warrington in Nottingham is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join its office-based team. The role focuses on workholding, fixturing and mechanical design, and involves collaborating with customers to develop practical, innovative solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

You will meet clients, develop concepts, create detailed designs using Siemens NX and/or SolidWorks, and produce technical reports and specifications while keeping projects on track.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ engineering experience, ideally in workholding/fixturing.
• Strong proficiency in Siemens NX and/or SolidWorks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is advantageous but not essential with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to understand projects and design briefs.
• Develop and execute mechanical designs using Siemens NX and SolidWorks.
• Design bespoke workholding and fixturing solutions for customer applications.
• Use simulations and testing to evaluate and optimise designs.
• Document design processes, iterations, and test results.
• Manage work against project timescales and resources.
• Liaise with customers, engineers, designers and manufacturers throughout projects.
• Produce technical reports and design specifications.
