Job summary

Belmont Talent is seeking a Design Engineer for pipework and fabrication in Stowmarket. You will develop practical designs from concept to installation, across the full project lifecycle, including client interaction.

The role is office-based with site visits, producing 2D/3D drawings in SolidWorks and AutoCAD Plant 3D, and supporting fabrication, welding decisions and material selection.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design, pipework or fabrication design.
• Strong CAD skills with 2D/3D design capabilities.
• Ability to interpret client requirements and translate into practical designs.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs from initial concept through to manufacture and installation.
• Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for pipework, steel fabrication and related projects.
• Develop piping layouts, routing and fabrication designs.
• Support design calculations and material selection to meet technical and safety standards.
• Collaborate with workshop and site teams and suppliers to deliver projects.
