Nucor Corporation is seeking a motivated individual to join its Engineering Department as a full-time design engineer in Swansea, SC. The role emphasizes hands-on learning, load analysis, and contributing to production-related design projects while training on state-of-the-art software.

You will work with experienced engineers to develop safe, economical components and gain cross-functional collaboration experience in a strong, safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Interest in structural engineering and design concepts.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on learning supporting the role of a full-time design engineer within the Engineering Department.
• Load analysis and tracing load paths through structures to reinforce engineering principles.
• Participate in training sessions to operate proprietary design software with precision.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School or General Equivalency Diploma
• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Architectural Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
• Effective with the English language using both verbal and written skills Proficient in verbal and written communication in English

Preferred Qualifications:

• Training or experience with statics, structural analysis, steel design
• Training or experience with CAD software
• Degree emphasis in Structures
• Leadership experience within clubs or organizations
