Job summary

Office Angels is recruiting a Design Engineer for our client in Aberdeen City Centre. You will manage multiple live projects, developing designs from customer specifications and fire strategies through to final design documentation and CAD output.

The role requires at least 1 year in fire alarm and AOV/smoke ventilation design, a degree or engineering apprenticeship, and AutoCAD experience. A collaborative environment offers ongoing professional development and clear career progression.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year's industry experience in both fire alarm and AOV/smoke ventilation design.
• Degree qualification or completion of an engineering apprenticeship.
• Experience using AutoCAD for 2D design work.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Responsibilities

• Developing system designs from customer specifications and fire strategies.
• Producing design specifications and supporting technical documentation.
• Completing engineering calculations to validate system designs.
• Creating and updating detailed AutoCAD drawings.
• Maintaining accurate design status information and project records.
• Responding to customer design queries and providing technical support.
• Attending project handover meetings with internal stakeholders.
• Participating in customer design meetings and design reviews.
• Working collaboratively with project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
