Help Build Our New Design Capability in South Wales
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer to join our expanding in‑house Civil & Structural Design team and play a key role in the development of a new Permanent Works Design presence in Pontyclun, South Wales.
As part of our continued investment in engineering excellence, we are establishing a dedicated South Wales design hub to support a growing portfolio of rail and infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to become part of a new and ambitious team, helping to deliver innovative civil and structural engineering solutions across a range of challenging rail schemes.
Working alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists, you will contribute to projects from feasibility through to detailed design, supporting the delivery of safe, practical and sustainable engineering solutions while developing your own technical and professional capabilities.
Following the successful award of several long-term framework agreements with major rail and infrastructure clients, we continue to invest in and expand our in‑house Civil & Structural Design capability.
Our team delivers multidisciplinary engineering solutions across framework contracts, asset management programmes, infrastructure renewals, enhancement projects and tendered schemes. The expansion into Pontyclun represents a significant investment in our regional capability and provides an exciting opportunity to help establish and grow a new design team in South Wales.
Reporting to a Senior Design Engineer or Principal Engineer, the Design Engineer is responsible for the development of technical solutions within project budget, programme and quality requirements.
You will support the delivery of permanent works civil and structural engineering projects, developing engineering solutions, producing calculations and technical reports, undertaking design work and collaborating with other engineers, technicians and project teams.
The role offers excellent exposure to a wide range of rail infrastructure projects and provides a strong platform for progression towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
