Design Engineer – CAD Specialist, Product Development

Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking a Design Engineer to join a growing Product Development team in Hull. You will produce detailed 2D/3D CAD designs and manufacturing information, taking concepts through to manufacture while helping improve performance, weight and cost.

You will work closely with engineering, production and other internal teams to deliver projects on time, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to design reviews and CAD system improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience creating and maintaining 2D/3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
• Experience with BOMs and engineering change control processes.
• Understanding of materials, assemblies and manufacturing processes.
• Exposure to injection moulding, extrusion, or modular manufacturing is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Interest in new materials, product development and sustainable design.

Responsibilities

• Create, update and maintain 2D/3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
• Develop CAD-led solutions to improve product performance, weight, cost and complexity.
• Support new product development from concept through to manufacture.
• Work closely with engineering and production to deliver projects to agreed timescales.
• Ensure components and assemblies meet relevant regulatory and approval requirements.
• Support engineering change and BOM management.
• Carry out change impact assessments and contribute to design reviews.
• Help develop and improve internal CAD systems, processes and workflows.
