Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd is recruiting a Design Engineer in Newtown for a well‑established manufacturing business. The role covers the full product development lifecycle, from concept through manufacture, with a 38‑hour week and flexitime.

The ideal candidate can be a graduate or an experienced engineer, with knowledge of 3D CAD (SolidWorks desirable), engineering drawings, BOMs, and a good grasp of design for manufacture. Salary £28,000–£45,000 with healthcare and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or degree in mechanical/related field.
• Solid engineering background with CAD skills.
• Experience with design for manufacture is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products and improve existing designs.
• Produce 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Manage projects from concept through to manufacture.
• Work with Production to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Support tooling, jig and fixture design where required.
• Resolve technical/manufacturing issues and contribute to continuous improvement.
