Job summary

Rubicon Recruitment Agency is seeking a Design Engineer in Poole to take a design from a sketched idea through to a fully detailed, production-ready drawing. Your precision and problem-solving mindset will help ensure first-time accuracy.

You will apply Design for Manufacture, value engineering, and dimensioning to ISO standards, produce layouts and costing sheets, and review designs against key specifications.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical design, including pneumatic equipment and circuit design.
• Ability to produce accurate detailed drawings and dimensioning.

Responsibilities

• Produce layout, assembly, and detailed drawings from initial concepts through to full completion.
• Hold design reviews and progress designs against key requirements and specifications.
• Apply Design for Manufacture and Value Engineering techniques to ensure a smooth transition into production.
• Select appropriate third party components and produce costing sheets for proposed designs.
• Formulate technical specifications and ensure full compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

As a Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Produce layout, assembly, and detailed drawings from initial concepts through to full completion
• Hold design reviews and progress designs against key requirements and specifications
• Apply Design for Manufacture and Value Engineering techniques to ensure a smooth transition into production
• Select appropriate third party components and produce costing sheets for proposed designs
• Formulate technical specifications and ensure full compliance with relevant regulations and standards

As a Design Engineer, your experience will include:

• HNC or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline
• Mechanical design experience, including pneumatic equipment and circuit design
• Strong working knowledge of 2D CAD, AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
• Ability to produce accurate detailed drawings and dimensioning to ISO standards
• Commissioning and site experience, with strong problem solving skills
